St. Michael’s Students Give Back to the FIRST Community!
During the Regional FIRST Robotics competition in March, St. Michael’s students shared their enthusiasm for FIRST LEGO League with visitors at the Seigel Center.

They answered questions and demonstrated their robot. They also coached young children through some programming steps to allow them hands-on experience with a simple robot.

Using School Computers
Students are welcome to use computers in their classroom, the library, and the computer lab for educational purposes. However, they must follow the school’s comprehensive rules for computer and Internet use. Click here for the Acceptable Use Policy for School Computers and Networks.
Technology
St. Michael’s students have access to computers throughout the campus. In addition to the computer lab, every classroom has desktop computers with network and Internet access. Mobile, wireless technology allows the 44 library and middle school laptops to be used throughout the school, as well. With our school-wide network, students can begin a project in class and continue their work in study hall or the computer lab.
The curriculum emphasizes the development of proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software. Students have access to the most current versions of Microsoft Office, Publisher, and Front Page. Beginning in the first grade, we stress and practice correct keyboarding.
The Internet offers almost infinite possibilities to enhance our students’ educational experiences. St. Michael’s strives to protect our students from the perils of Internet access with the use of content filtering software. Every student is required to acknowledge our Acceptable Use Policy before permission is granted to use school computers. Click here for helpful information on Internet safety for parents.
St. Michael’s participates in the nationwide WeatherBug Achieve program. Our on-site weather station transmits live data to our library, the Internet and NBC-12 television news.
