What Do Our Families LOVE
About St. Michael's?

Overall

"St. Michael's is truly a special, special place. Our children are loved, supported, encouraged, respected, and given the freedom to explore their interests. The joy exuded by the faculty, inclusiveness of the fellow parents, and warm, welcoming spirit were stand out factors for us. It was important that our children joined a community that would get to know them, help guide them and become family. We have found that in St. Michael's. Our children are challenged academically, morally, and spiritually to ensure that they are well-rounded, respectful, and most importantly, kind. Even though we live in a fantastic school district, there was no doubt that St. Michael's would be WORTH THE INVESTMENT. We were right!"

A St. Michael's Parent

"When I reflect on my experience as a parent of two elementary students at St. Michael’s, the following thoughts immediately come to mind: The teaching of traditional Christian values applicable for the modern world. Focused class sizes which challenge and support bright, aspiring minds. A true sense of community and an obvious foundation to support lifelong friendships. The respect and love for the school’s own history and traditions is very well-balanced with an eye to the exciting future of a new campus with many modern advantages. Healthy competition in the classroom and on the playing fields is valued. Kindness and fairness are integrated with achievement and advancement. In the midst of an ever-changing academic, societal, and cultural landscape, my wife and I continue to firmly believe that our children are getting the “best of both worlds” at St. Michael’s. We are proud to be Dragons!"

"Our family is so grateful to be part of St. Michael's School, where our children have flourished academically, and, even more importantly, socio-emotionally. It's a rare and special place, where kindness and respect is so knit into everyday life that children (and their families) know no other way. My oldest of three, who graduated just this past year, left not only with admission to a highly competitive specialty center (Maggie Walker) and an academic scholarship at a local independent high school, but also with with a sense of integrity that's hard to come by in today's age. I cannot sing high enough praises. We love our school!"

Academic Excellence

"I LOVE St. Michael's for its strong curriculum that challenges students to ask questions, dig deeper and explore lots of perspectives before arriving at a conclusion. St. Michael's combines this premier educational experience with a truly welcoming, vibrant community and a wonderfully pervasive emphasis on morals and values."

A St. Michael's Parent

"St. Michael's has been such a blessing to our family! The challenging academic program is truly exceptional. Not only did our two children learn to think critically and creatively, but they learned how to be successful students. They learned how to manage their own workload, how to write a well-developed paper, how to study for a test, and many other important skills which made them very ready for high school. The teachers at St. Michael’s clearly have a passion for teaching, and they engage the students in interesting and highly-effective ways. My husband said recently that “St. Michael’s was the best investment we ever made.”

Values

"We love the values of the school which flow through the administration, faculty, staff, students and parents. St. Michael's knows 'who it is' and what it does best and does not get distracted. Children understand what is expected of them and truly follow through. My child is so extremely proud to say she goes to St. Michael's!"

A Culture of Kindness

"Lots of places, including St. Michael's, deliver first-rate academic learning. What we LOVE most about St. Michael's is the 'culture of kindness' that defines our School ... We love our special little gem of a School for molding not only our children's minds, but also their hearts."

A St. Michael's Parent

"There is so much to LOVE! The kindergarten teachers are extraordinary! But the thing we have been most surprised and touched by so far in our first year ... that our son brought home letter after letter written by his twin brother, as well as children in other grades, commending his performance in his class play. Each letter was personalized, illustrated, thoughtful and a lovely gift to our budding performer. We are proud to be part of a school that fosters such kindness."

Nurturing the Whole Child

"I LOVE that St. Michael's is a happy place full of books, art, music and exercise. My kids are encouraged to think, create, problem-solve and grow. They have many opportunities to mature as scholars, athletes, artists and innovators. They are flourishing in a place where they are encouraged to find their own voices and use their words politely as members of a respectful community. They are learning to enjoy personal achievements, while still working and playing nicely with others. Their teachers care about them as people, and that's what we love most about St. Michael's, the people!"

A St. Michael's Parent

"If we had to pick the one thing we LOVE most about St. Michael's, it would be how much our daughter has thrived since she's been there. Our daughter, who was formerly shy and reserved, has become a gregarious, warm, kind and humorous St. Michael's Dragon. It's wonderful to see St. Michael's embrace kids as kids with creative learning, acts of citizenship and the importance of fun. We love you, St. Michael's!"

A St. Michael's Parent

"I feel very grateful to be a part of a community of teachers, staff, parents, and students that not only care about educating young minds to think critically and independently, but equally emphasize the importance of gratitude, empathy, compassion and service. St. Michael's embodies these characteristics and teachers are willing to go the extra mile. As a result of modeling such enthusiasm for their subjects, students reflect these same traits of excellence and strive to be their best selves. I consider St. Michael's to be an extension of my family because we are all committed to communicating and working together to raise children prepared to contribute as positive citizens of the world."

A St. Michael's Parent

"It's the kind of place where 'everybody knows your name' ... All the teachers and staff are familiar, enthusiastic and friendly, even if they haven't had my children in their classes."

Faculty Who Are Excited to Work Here

"I love how the people I work with are so committed to go the extra mile to bring out the best in all of our kids. I love how appreciative our St M families are for all we do. There is never a day that I don't want to come to work as there is so much JOY here! We are truly a family; once you have been part of the School, you are part of the School forever."

A St. Michael's Faculty Member

"At the end of my classes, my students often say 'Thank you' (or gracias) as they leave. Imagine thanking me for teaching them! I love teaching at St M because of the respectfulness, kindness, and desire to learn those 'thank you's' embody."
